Assignment: -Write a ten page letter to your future self following the criteria below. -Label an envelope with your first and last name. -On an index card, write your name, date, and a permanent address for your family. I will use this address to mail your letter IF I can’t find a current address for you in 10 years. Include the following: -Where you see yourself in 10 years (kids, married, where are you living, dogs/cats/etc., occupation, how are you impacting the world?) -Top ten goals for your life -Your philosophy of life now (an overall vision or attitude toward life and the purpose of life) -What are your opinions on politics? -What are you opinions on religion? -What are your biggest fears for your life? -Advice for your adult self -Include the prices of some things you often buy (McDonalds, jeans at American Eagle, PlayStation game, iPhone, whatever) -Describe how your bedroom is decorated/looks (a wreck, neat, walls are pink, yellow, Justin Bieber posters, etc.) -Describe three or four of your favorite high school memories (ball games, dances, talking to friends at lunch, EOC test days, etc.) -Where do you like to hang out or go in Sweetwater (friends' houses, restaurants, favorite spots?) -What do you like to do? -What people have influenced you the most? (parent, friend, etc.) -Include your favorite motivational quotes or song lyrics -Include at the end of your letter, what you wish your future self to accomplish. Give yourself the encouraging words you will need to hear 10 years from you! -Write about what the most important things in life are to you.
-When you finish, write a short message to add to a friend’s letter.
-Make this letter good! You will also appreciate this assignment much more in 10 years when you get a glimpse at your past and hopefully inspiration from your younger self for your future.
